On December 11, 2025, Google released a new Google update to help visitors find the right website on the world’s most popular search engine.

What does Google update mean?
It is a significant change to the algorithm that Google performs several times a year on its search engine to improve search results for visitors. During a Google update, positions change significantly, i.e., the positions of keywords, which results in changes in traffic on almost all websites. This Google Core update is expected to last 2 to 4 weeks.
Why is this important?
Imagine that you are used to your domain traffic. Based on previous months, you can calculate how much traffic your website will have during the holidays (also based on the goods you sell). However, all this can change in the blink of an eye if your positions during the Google update rise or, conversely, fall. It is therefore very unpleasant if you suddenly don’t have enough goods or, conversely, your traffic drops due to a Google update and you lose visitors. Neither option is good, but the second is obviously much worse. Even so, disappointing your visitors with a lack of goods can damage your online reputation. SEO companies are most deeply involved in this issue, but the impact can be felt throughout the online world.
It is therefore strange that Google releases these “earthquakes” just before Christmas, during the peak shopping season.
