In today’s article we’ll be taking a look at a really cool AI video editor that I’m pretty sure most people aren’t even aware exists. This is Nvidia Invideo, and they’ve updated it to version 3 which actually means that you can create entire videos from a single text prompt. That’s right—entire videos from a single text prompt!
The reason I love this so much is because unlike other video editors where you have to do a lot of manual editing, this is a video editor that does everything for you.
Creating Your First AI Video
Let’s say we ask it to create a video about “the hidden empire behind your morning coffee.” Here, I decide to add some context: I specify that it should talk about the fact that most of the money doesn’t go to the farmers, it flows upwards, and a few families own massive pieces of the coffee world. Then I click “Generate Video.”
On the next screen, there are a variety of different settings you can adjust:
- Duration – You can set it to 1 minute for a short video, 4 minutes for something bite-sized, or 10 minutes for an in-depth exploration
- Target Audience – Options like “coffee lovers” or “general public”
- Platform Format – You can easily format content for Instagram, YouTube Shorts, or other platforms
For this demonstration, I’ll choose YouTube Shorts format and click Continue.
The Generated Video
It didn’t take long to generate, and now we have a video ready to watch. The AI has created a complete narrative about coffee:
“Your morning coffee habits got a secret ready to spill the beans. That delicious cup of coffee you sip every morning—it’s got a story, and it’s not just about the beans. Did you know that most of the money you spend on coffee doesn’t actually go to the farmers? In fact, a whopping 90% of profits flow upwards. Here’s the kicker: just a few powerful families control massive chunks of the coffee world. They own the plantations, the processing plants, even the distribution chains. Meanwhile, the farmers who grow those precious beans—they’re often left struggling to make ends meet. So next time you take a sip, remember there’s a hidden empire behind your brew…”
Powerful Text-Based Editing
What I really like about this is that you can fine-tune your video and edit it by using simple text-based commands via the edit command box. Just type in whatever you’d like to change.
For example, if I want to translate this to French, I can type “translate this to French” and click generate. The AI then translates the entire video to French, including the narration.
You can go one step further and clone your voice so that all the videos you create can be narrated in your own voice. When I told it to “add my voice instead,” it generated the video with my voice speaking French. I can easily change it back to English by typing that command.
Advanced Editing Options
If you don’t like any of the clips, you can click “Edit Media.” This gives you the ability to:
- Swap out footage with stock media from their library of millions of royalty-free media
- Generate your own custom AI media by typing in your idea
- Upload your own media to replace existing clips
There are other editing options too, such as “Edit Music,” where you can choose from a library of tracks to find the right sound for your video. You can preview the music before applying it with a simple click to replace the current track.
Testing the Generative Media Capabilities
I wanted to test out how good their generative media actually was. For example, one clip in the video talks about sipping a cup of coffee. Using the generative media feature, I entered the description: “a woman sitting in a coffee cafe like Starbucks drinking coffee from a cup.”
The AI generated a perfect clip of a woman sipping her coffee, which fit much better with the narration: “that delicious cup of coffee you sip every morning has a story.” I didn’t have to use the generative media, but I wanted to show you the amazing capabilities built right into the software.
Pricing Options
You can try Invideo for free, but if you want to use those generative capabilities, I would recommend going for the Generative plan that starts at around $96 a month. It’s the plan I have, and it gives you the most bang for your buck with 15 generative minutes. This can save you hundreds of dollars that you’d otherwise spend on editing, animating, and other production costs.
If you’re already an Invideo user, you can simply go to the add-on section and buy the Generative feature.
